Our current programs include:

  • LandSafe® Aircraft Survivability System

    The LandSafe® aircraft survivability system provides altitude, groundspeed, drift angle, airspeed, true windspeed and direction at speeds down to 0 knots to allow for safe vertical lift aircraft operations in Degraded Visibility Environments – DVE ("brown-out" and "white-out" conditions). Research and development for the LandSafe® system is ongoing at OADS®.

  • Vindicator® Laser Wind Sensor

    The Vindicator® laser wind sensor (LWS) is a forward-looking LIDAR system capable of measuring real-time three-dimensional wind speed and direction data at varying ranges out to 300 meters. The sensor design is based on state-of-the-art fiber laser technology developed and patented at Optical Air Data Systems. This commercial application has been licensed to Catch the Wind, Inc. for production.

    The Laser Integrated Target Engagement System (LITES) consolidates many of the capabilities required by Forward Air Controllers (FAC) into a single, one man portable unit. OADS® continues with futher research and development for this technology.
